An 18-year-old daughter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament  (MP) for the Asante Akyem Central Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi has committed suicide.

According to reports, the late Adwoa Agyarka, a first-year Chemical Engineering student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), hanged herself in the early hours of Friday in her hostel room with a rope leaving behind a note which read, "sorry mummy and daddy for not been the girl you want me to be".

What pushed her to commit suicide is not yet known but reports suggest it is related to her failure of some of her course papers which she saw as disgraceful to herself and to the family.
