We state without any equivocation that our thorough examination of the Ghana at 60 logo which was launched by President Nana Akufo Addo bears some traits of an intellectual property theft, Policy think tank, Strategic Thinkers Network (STRANEK) has stated.

In a statement dubbed “Ghana@60 logo infested with intellectual property theft” and signed by the Executive Director of STRANEK, Nii Tettey Tetteh read,

“The Ghana@60 logo unveiled at Flagstaff House on Thursday, February 9 is a logo cut out from the International Festival of Cultural Diversity without any acknowledgement of the intellectual property owner. This is totally embarrassing and a display of poverty of ideas.”

According to the statement, such an unbearable intellectual property theft is a sign of deficiency of genuine thoughts and ideas by the committee in charge of the Ghana@60 celebrations and as a matter of urgency, President Akufo Addo must hire people with original thoughts and ideas to maintain the sanctity of Ghana our motherland.

STRANEK furthermore stated that the diversity and unity of Ghana as well as the aspirations of Ghanaians for a dignified cum prosperous future cannot be infested with a thievery of intellectual property.

Therefore, the Policy think tank, is of the view that, as a result of such excruciating act, “H.E. the President must call the committee in charge of Ghana@60 celebrations to independently do something new devoid of intellectual property theft to give this celebration a unique touch.”
