A father had sex with his daughter before paying her examinations printing fee, an Accra Circuit Court has heard.

Emmanuel Abbey, a taxi driver,  who  had been frequently having sex with the victim, is alleged to have twice impregnated the victim and has been charged with incest.

He pleaded guilty and the court presided over by Mrs Ruby Naa Adjeley remanded him into custody for sentencing on March 29, 2016.

The accused person admitted having sex with the victim but denied aborting her two pregnancies and  prayed for forgiveness from the victim and her mother promising not repeat the act.

According to the prosecutor, Detective Inspector, Grace Bandeh,  the complainant, who happens to be the victim's mother, is a trader residing at Awoshie while the accused lived at Pobiman, near Amasaman, Accra.

Prosecution told the court that complainant and accused  were divorced hence the victim sometimes lived with father and her mother’s relations.

Detective Inspector Bandeh said between 2013 and 2016, the victim lived with her father (Abbey) together with his wife and four other children.

According to the prosecutor, the victim once asked for exams printing fees from her father where the accused told him that he would only pay the money if she allowed him to have sex with her of which she obliged.

Prosecution said the accused has since continued to have sex with her and even got pregnant on two occasions of which he gave him medicine to abort them.

Inspector Bandeh said on March 7, this year the victim reported Abbey’s conduct to an auntie who confronted him.

Abbey subjected the victim to severe beating for reporting him to her auntie. The victim’s mother was informed where she  lodged a complainant with the Police and the victim was issued with a medical form to seek medical attention.

The following day, the prosecution said Abbey was arrested and in his caution statement admitted the offence.
