Vice President’s convoy involved in accident

Two of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s dispatch riders have  reported been involved in an accident.

The riders reportedly crashed into a Nissan Patrol vehicle which crossed them at Song, a village in the Mion district, when the convoy was moving from Yendi to Tamale. 

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Yussif Tanko confirmed the accident to AdomFM

He said riders of motorbikes with registration number GP-4135 and GP-4425 were thrown off the motorbike and crashed into the ground.

Adom News’ Illiasu Abdul Rauf who was part of the Vice President’s convoy said the riders  sustained injuries and were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is on a four-day tour of the Northern region.

The tour which is his first since he assumed office will afford him the opportunity to visit most parts of the region and also visit his hometown.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia called on the Overlord of the Gonjaland, at his palace in Damongo and assured him that plans are far advance to end the water crisis in the area.

Dr. Bawumia said government has secured a 30 million funding for the Yendi water project which would help end the perennial water crisis in the Yendi municipality.
