Embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has called on President Nana Akufo- Addo to ensure that his human rights are not infringed on after some military men reportedly raided his Trassaco residence.

He says the president’s track record as a human rights activist is being tested and he must redeem that image by calling his men to order.

This appeal is on the wheels of a raid by the National security operators on some properties of his, in a bid to retrieve the ¢51.2 million judgment debt wrongly paid to him by the state.

Mr. Woyome insisted his case at the African Court on Human and People’s rights should have stopped the Attorney general from going ahead with the raid on his properties.

“The judiciary getting involved raises serious human rights concerns about the freedom of the Ghanaian. I have not refused and will not refuse to obey but if the constitution gives the opportunity for me to seek justice, I will exhaust it”, he said.

The state has been pursuing Woyome since 2014 to refund the ¢51.2 million he received through a judgment debt.

The Supreme Court in a letter dated September 13, requested the Lands Commission to value some four properties belonging to the debtor Mr. Woyome.

They include House No. 16B,6th Street at Tesano, one residential property at Kpehe and two residential properties at Trassaco, all in Accra.

But Woyome wants government to protect his human rights against those who want to abuse them because his case is still pending at the African Court.

“ President Nana Addo did not come to this country by Coup D’etat, he was voted for through the use of the same constitution. He should, therefore, ensure that everybody’s rights are protected and we are all safe.”
