Scores of residents at Adum Banso in the Mpohor District of the Western Region are demonstrating against the poor state of road in the area.

The residents, numbering over 500 and wearing red armed bands, have blocked the road leading in and out of the community.

No vehicle has moved in and out of the community since the morning of Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

Trucks belonging to the Benso Oil Palm Plantation which was supposed to have carried goods to and from the company have all been denied access.

President Akufo-Addo on June 10 went to the district capital to cut the sod for the construction of a 15.5 kilometre road from Kejebril to Mpohor but the residents are not too pleased with the action of the President.

According to them, Adum Banso is one of the productive areas in the region; therefore, they were expecting the President to appreciate their efforts by extending the road to Adum Banso.

The residents are threatening to block the road for a week if they do not hear anything from government.
