The disqualified Presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Akua Donkor has been named among the Top 100 most influential women in the country by WomanRising.

Madam Donkor has been in the limelight since 2012 when she made her first attempt at contesting for the presidency of Ghana but was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Though she has been disqualified again by the EC on her second attempt, the fact that she has no formal education but still wants to take up a leading role in Ghana's politics is somentning worth commending.

According to the founder of WomanRising, Ekow Mensah, women who made it to the top 100 list cut across all sectors of the economy.

WomanRising is a flagship project of The African Network of Entrepreneurs aiming at equipping 100,000 women in Ghana and Africa to be globally minded, have globally competitive brands, businesses & careers, influence the society positively and leave a lasting legacy.

“The 100 Most Influential Ghanaian Women list cuts across various sectors and disciplines and adequately represents the tenacity of women in their quest to leave lasting legacies and to influence society positively.
