President John Mahama is upbeat despite a seeming commanding lead taken by his opponent, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 presidential elections, the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) campaign spokesperson, Joyce Bawa Mogtari has stated.

As the hour draws closer for the announcing of results from the various constituency collation centers, reports coming in from the polling stations indicates a marginal lead by the opposition New Patriotic Party's Presidential candidate, Nana Danquah Akufo-Addo. 

Daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings has emerged  the Member of Parliament-elect for the Korle Klottey constituency in the Greater Accra region.

The New Patriotic Party has taken an early lead in the 2016 presidential election.

The most shocking Presidential result has arrived at the Winneba North Campus with the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and Nana Akufo-Addo taking a commanding lead.

President John Mahama, the candidate for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) obtained 154 votes, while Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) secured 117 votes.

In a spate of few irregularities that occured during the concluded Ghana's Presidential and Parliamentary polls which was generally peaceful and transparent, a yoghurt seller was arrested at Ablekuma West constituency for allegedly pulling a knife to threaten someone.

The Electoral Commission(EC) of Ghana has said that the ongoing general elections have so far been successful.

It is a mixture of feelings as results starts pouring in after a day's process that had over 15 million voters casting their ballots at 28,992 polling stations across the nation to elect their next President in the historic 2016 Ghana general elections. 

Most polling stations in the Shai Sudoku Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have started counting ballots as voting ended in all the 90 polling staions with massive voter turnout as 46,357 voters were expected to cast their ballots.

Report coming in from the Electoral Commission Headquarters in Accra indicates that, Jaman North constituencies in Brong Ahafo region has been officially postponed to tomorrow December 8, 2016 at 7am to 5pm.

Earlier today, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and incumbent President of the Republic of Ghana casted his ballot at a polling station in his Bole constituency in the Northern region of the country.

A voter at the Old Tafo Constituency has been caught putting two ballot papers in the box with both thumb-printed John Mahama.

The police spotted the voter attempting to drop the papers and arrested him. Further checks uncovered 10 more ballot papers on him.

President John Dramani Mahama has beaten Nana Akufo-Addo in the presidential election at the Tamale Central Prison.

An Activist of the ruling NDC and Actor John Dumelo has cast his vote and as means to justify his activism for the NDC shared a photo of his ballot on social media.
