Primary school pupils in the Asokwa Constituency in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, have been presented with Nana Akufo-Addo branded exercise books and other items to boost academic work.

The items, presented by Madam Patricia Appiagyei, MP for the area, formed part of activities marking the ‘My First Day at School’ project, to welcome new entrants to school.

According to Madam Appiagyei, her supporters and admirers assisted her to acquire 200 pieces of footwear, 1250 stationery kits, 1000 pieces of dual desks, 960 pieces of the cockcrow books, school uniforms and 10,000 exercise books which were to be distributed among 14 schools in the constituency including New Asafo MA, Kaase MA, Atonsu MA, Shukuriya Islamic School, Gyinyase MA and Good Shepherd, among others.

She officially welcomed the new entrants to school and urged them to always report to school on time and take their lessons seriously so that they would grow to become influential people.

Speaking on behalf of the heads of the beneficiary schools, Foster Opoku, Headmaster of New Asafo MA Primary School commended Mama Pat for her vision and determination to promote education in the constituency.

He mentioned dual desks, marker boards and inadequate furniture among others, as the pressing needs of the school, appealing to the well-to-do-people in the constituency to come to the aid of the school.
