President Nana Akufo-Addo has sworn in Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as the Minister of Foreign Affairs at a brief ceremony in Ethiopia.
The swearing in which took place on Saturday became necessary because Mrs Botchwey was already out of the country attending a meeting of Foreign Affairs ministers of members of the African Union when the president was swearing in ministers-designate who had been approved by parliament.

She was sworn in at Ghana’s embassy in Addis Ababa.
She succeeds former MP Hanna Tetteh in the role.
