Citi FM broadcast journalist Bernard Avle and Metro TV's Paul Adom-Otchere are both expected to appear before the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry today.

The two experienced journalists are to testify before the Commission probing the Ayawaso by-election violence.

Multimedia journalist Evans Mensah was before the Commission on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.

He told the Commission about his outfit's coverage of the election and also gave some guidelines to how we can avoid future election violence.

Several persons of interest including EC boss Jean Mensah, Minister of Interior Ambrose Dery and other top police officials have all appeared before the Commission.

The Justice Emile Short Commission was set up by President Akufo-Addo to probe the Ayawaso by-election violence on January 31, 2019.

The violence led to some shooting incidents and also led to some 13 people sustaining injuries.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced that they will not be involved in the probing process. They later changed that position and said they will not prevent any of their members willing to appear before the Commission of Inquiry.

The NDC candidate for the Ayawaso by-election Delali Kwesi Brempong appeared before the Commission yesterday to testify.
