The public lecture by New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia which was to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) has been moved to the National Theatre.

The change in venue was necessitated by the refusal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, managers of the AICC to grant access to the organisers of the lecture.

Confirming the development on Peace FM on Wednesday, a Deputy Communications Director of the NPP,  Anthony Karbo disclosed that, after a series of meetings with officials of AICC and using the venue to advertise the lecture, the organisers went to effect payment for the venue on Wednesday only to be told that the Ministry had refused to give approval for hosting of the programme.

He, however, downplayed the effect of the change in venue on the lecture and urged supporters to throng the National Theatre to hear what Dr Bawumia has to say.

The lecture to be chaired by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor under “The State of the Ghanaian Economy – A Foundation of Concrete or Straw" is expected to start at 4pm on Thursday, September 8.
