The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as “Chairman Wontumiâ€, has handed over the construction of a new regional headquarters of the party.
He was assisted by the second lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia and the Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremah Opare.
Chairman Wontumi also took the opportunity to hand over the extraordinary office complex which is under construction to the regional executives and the entire party supporters
Chairman Wontumi on August 2017 set up a Five-Member Committee to oversee the construction of a new party office for the party in the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the ruling party.
The Committee was to be responsible for the sourcing of funds, acquisition of land and award of construction as well as ensure the successful execution of an ultramodern office befitting of the party.
The Committee is being chaired by the Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, who is also acting as the representative for all the constituencies in the region.
