MP for Asawase and Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka says the attempt by President Akufo-Addo to give full control of mission schools to the Churches is a bad idea.

According to him, the Churches already have considerable control over the schools and giving them full control will not augur well for the development of the country’s education.

The Catholic Bishop Conference and the Christian Council have been among the religious groups calling on government to give back the mission schools to the Churches.

President Akufo-Addo said his government is considering their request.

Reacting in a radio interview, Mubarak Muntaka said giving full control will lead to high indoctrination in the various mission schools.

He believes indiscipline which is one of the basis for giving the schools back to the churches will still persist because the issues its even prevalent in schools that are privately owned.
