A National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful Alban Bagbin has described the fight against corruption under the Akufo-Addo government as “horrible” because it is not backed by action.
According to Alban Bagbin, partisanship has shielded government's will to fight against corruption, as most of the things being said are not backed by action.
As part of ways to fight corruption in the country, President Akufo-Addo set up the office of the Special Prosecutor which draws prosecutorial powers from the Attorney General. But after months of giving a legislative backing to the office not much has been seen from him.
The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu complained about the lack of resources to execute the tasked given to him by the state.
Commenting on the fight against corruption on StarrFM, Alban Bagbin said it is not just about setting up the office but tooling the office to do the needful.
