National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registrants whose names were deleted from the voters register by the Electoral Commission (EC) have another chance to be registered starting today.

The exercise commences from August 5 to 12. 29,000 polling stations across the country are involved and estimates suggests some 30,000 persons could re-register and be eligible to vote come December 7.

The EC was reluctant to extend the re-registration period but yielded when calls became deafening.

At the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting the it also made known there will be a continuous registration exercise on 19th and 25th August to give those who have never registered a chance to get on the voters roll.

For persons seeking to replace their lost voter’s ID card, they have been directed to visit the district or regional office of the Commission to be verified and pay GH₵5.00 for card replacement.
