Former presidential staffer Dr. Clement Apaak has claimed that the appointment of flag bearer of the PNC as an ambassador by President Akufo Addo is a reward for his relentless campaign against the NDC during the 2016 election.

Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama,  was on July 10 appointed Ambassador-at-Large. Unlike an ambassador-in-residence who is usually limited to a country or embassy, the ambassador-at-large is entrusted to operate in several usually neighboring countries, a region or sometimes hold a seat in an international organization like the United Nations

Speaking on Accra based Starr FM today the Member of Parliament for Builsa South said the veteran politician’s appointment is the prize for his persistent efforts  at thwarting the second term bid of former president John Mahama.

“I think he has been rewarded for a job well done”

Meanwhile, Executives of the People’s National Convention (PNC) have criticized their leader’s decision to accept the appointment.
