The Electoral Commission(EC) is contemplating on reducing the ‘huge’ filing fees following complains by the political parties contesting the general elections.
Head of Communications at the EC, Eric Dzakpasu announced that the EC would meet to review the GHC50,000 filling fees for presidential candidates.
According to Mr. Dzakpasu the Commission is aware of the complains by the parties as far as the filing fees are concerned and will meet to discuss the way forward.
Any decision made by the Commission after deliberations he said would be communicated to the parties accordingly.
