Leader of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has advised members and leaders of the party to realise there would be disagreements in any family but for the task awaiting the NPP in this year’s election, everyone should make it a point to offer every resource they wield so the party and his good self can win the December’s presidential and parliamentary election.

“The only politics that you will do and have no issue [with] is in heaven and not on this earth” he stressed.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the time was now for “cooperation in the party” adding “whatever issue you have, drop it and help us to win power.”

Speaking to leaders and party faithfuls in the Ashanti Region at a meeting to strategise for the election, he admonished “we understand that cooperation is at the centre of our success. We have a big programme, some of them are very new ideas that will yield to development of the country. These new programmes, if we don’t have a majority in Parliament, will be very difficult. We need to get a clear majority in the House. That is our main target.”

He also added the NPP will get the green light to the Flag Staff House if the party should win anything above 80% of votes in the Ashanti Region which historically happens to be the stronghold of the NPP.

“The polls going on in Ashanti Region are encouraging; but we all know that if we hit 80% of the popular votes in Ashanti, we have one and a half feet in the door of Jubilee House. So I’m begging you, let us make this year 2016 the year of the elephant.”

Meanwhile acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay says he has no shred of doubt that the NPP will clinch a one time victory. He added that the NPP is more than ready to meet the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) boot-for-boot on the battleground to ensure the party is not deprived of victory.
