Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jacob Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, early Sunday morning passed away in London .

Jake, as he was affectionately called, is reported to been receiving treatment for a yet to be disclosed ailment.
He celebrated his 70th birthday on February, 4, this year.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey,  having served as the Campaign Manager in the successful Election 2000 campaign, went on to head several ministries in the subsequent Kufuor government until he resigned in 2007 to  run for the party's flagbearer slot which he lost.
He became National Chairman in 2010 and lost a re-election bid in 2014 to the now suspended Paul Afoko.
