There seems to be some good news for the jailed Montie FM trio as they will not be serving additional time for defaulting the fines imposed on them by the Supreme Court.
According to reports, the fine GH¢10,000 each the supreme Court ordered them to pay has been paid by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Portuphy had earlier hinted of the difficulty in raising the GH¢30,000 for the three within the 24 hours ordered by the court but it looks that part of their troubles has been put to bed.

The trio, host of Accra-based pro-NDC station, Montie FM’s political talk show ‘Pampaso’ and two panelists said to be members of the NDC, Alistair Nelson, and Godwin Ako Gunn, who earlier been found guilty of contempt were on Wednesday jailed four months each by the Supreme Court on Wednesday and also pordered to pay GH¢10,000 within 24 hours or in default serve extra time in jail.
Many including the NDC as a party have condemned the sentence, especially the jail term, saying it was harsh and shocking.
