The Vice President of Policy think tank Imani Africa, Kofi Bentil has indicated that he is not neutral but thinks independently when it comes to matters involving politics and governance in Ghana.
In a response to a backlash from some Ghanaians on his comment made upon the arrival of the Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia saying ‘Bawumia toaso, make Samira the first lady’, Kofi Bentil said he not neutral and that he wants the incumbent NPP government to succeed.  “I say without shame, Bawumia is one of the best Vice President we had".
Speaking on News Analysis Programme Newsfile on Joy FM today February 3, 2018, Kofi Bentil openly declared his support for the current NPP government saying the NPP government now is the best since 1957.
"The Akufo-Addo led administration is one of the best Ghana has had since independence and I am not ashamed to openly declare".
He emphasized that the incumbent NPP government has performed creditably well when it comes to the management of the economy, Kofi Bentil specifically praised the Vice-President for leading that charge.
"Today, Treasury bill rates are dropping and that's what happens when an economy is run well".he noted
        
The Vice President of Policy think tank Imani Africa Kofi Bentil went on to reiterate that he pray Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to becomes President of Ghana and Samira Bawumia the first lady.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Thursday, February 1, 2018, arrived from the United Kingdom where he had been for a 12-day medical leave.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who touched down from British Airways Flight was met by the President Nana Akufo-Addo, and the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was flown out on Friday, January 19 upon the advice of his doctors after he fell ill after reporting to work.
