Even though I believe so much in the anti-corruption crusader and a leading member of the pressure group OccupyGhana Sydney Casely-Hayford he was wrong in his comment about Parliament making only ‘stupid laws’.

That's according to the Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Kweku Baako, who says he is now in a dilemma because he even cited Casely-Hayford  for his good works towards consolidating Ghana's democracy in a lecture on Centre for Democratic Development [CCD] platform.

Mr Casely-Hayford was reported to have described Parliament at a summit as a body that makes "stupid" laws and does not think of the impact of the laws. He has after the comment apologized for his derogatory comment.

But Member of Parliament of Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, who petitioned the house over the comment has said the apology from the leading member of OccupyGhana will not save him from being dragged to the house.

Commenting on the development on JoyFM’s Newsfile on Saturday, June 15, Mr. Baako said Sydney’s comment and language were wrong. He stated that even though some of the points about some members not reading through policy document presented to the house before passing is legitimate, there should have been a better way to address it done downgrading the whole legislative body.

He further added that despite some of the shortfalls in the laws being passed most of the legislative instruments are very important and yielding results in the country.
