The National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku wants the editor of the Punch Newspaper, Baby Ansaba real name Ebenezer Ato Sam to withdraw a false publication citing him or be prepared to defend his action in a court of law in the coming days.
Mr. Awuku stated he expects the journalist to render the earlier story false, give a retraction enjoying the same prominence as the false story or meet him in court.Â
 “I’ll sue Baby Ansaba and use the damages to support Nana Addo’s campaign†he declared.
Baby Ansaba reportedly made a report on the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Punch Newspaper suggesting Mr. Awuku denigrated the NPP’s presidential candidate while he joined Henry Quartey, MP for Ayawaso Central constituency in the company of other party operatives at the launch of Hon. Quartey’s campaign.Â
“These comments that he made, I’ve never made it in private or public. But nonetheless I have witnesses and I spent about 20 mins at the event and I spoke for about 3 mins in the presence of Sheikh I.C Quaye, Hon. Henry Quartey, Hon Ashietey, the Regional Chairman, Hon. Boye, the Ist Vice Chairman and others. But I don’t want to reach a point in the legal tussle whereby he Baby Ansaba will come and beg me for an out of court settlement. If Baby Ansaba stands by what he is saying I thank him†the peeved party officer rendered.
Mr. Awuku has since professed his innocence against the explosive claims made by the Punch.
Meanwhile editor of the Punch Newspaper, Baby Ansaba stands by his story pointing out that he won’t succumb to threats issued by Mr. Awuku.
