Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu,  is currently appearing before the Ghartey Committee, as the body continues its probe into the bribery allegation made against the leadership of the Appointments Committee and Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko.

Earlier the minority chief whip, Mubarak Muntaka,  appeared with his lawyer, Samson Lardy Ayenini, and submitted a written statement which he wanted the committee to admit into evidence.

The minister for energy, Boakye Agyarko, also appeared to answer questions about the allegations.

He appearance was preceded by that of Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, who defended his assertion that he received GHC3,000 from Mubarak Muntaka.

Ayariga said he did not deal with wither Boakye Agyarko or Joe Osei-Owusu directly, stressing that he only relied on what he was told by Muntaka regarding the origin of the money.

When asked whether he whether on hindsight, he would say that Agyarko did not bribe the MPs, Ayariga said refused to say that.

Ayariga said it was a fact that he received the money and that Muntaka told him the money came from Agyarko.

He said it was also a fact that he did not receive money directly from Agarko.
