The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding President Mahama responsible for the boom time ‘galamsey’ operators are enjoying.

At a press conference to state their concern regarding the destruction to various river bodies by the illegal miners, Communications Director at the NPP, Nana Akomea, reprimanded the president for looking on while the operations of ‘galamsey’ expands and takes on a wanton nature thanks to his poor handling of the situation.

He chastised the National Democratic Congress presidential nominee for being dishonest noting that while Mahama tells Ghanaians to renew his mandate to judiciously handle the resources of the state, he sits idle while the country’s forest and river bodies continue to be dissipated.

He pledged a NPP government will ruthlessly wipe out the illegal miners while enforcing laws which govern shall mining.
