Deputy General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that party manifestos will not necessarily determine who wins the upcoming general elections.

According to him, "people are finding it difficult to mobilise GHC1 to buy an item" so they cared less about whether you brought out a manifesto or not but "were ready to listen to words which will give them assurance that sooner or later things will change".

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) last Saturday launched their 2016 manifesto in Sunyani amidst insinuations that the failure of their main contenders to present a manifesto up till this point meant they [NPP] were not ready to govern.

But speaking on Class FM's Executive Breakfast Show on Monday, Mr Boahen said "at the appropriate time we will launch our manifesto [but] I can assure you that about 98% of Ghanaians do not care about manifestos", adding that, for him, "the presentation of a manifesto is not my priority".

"Do we owe Ghanaians a huge debt just because we have not launched our manifesto?", he retorted.
