Montie FM and Radio Gold off-air since Montie 3 ruling

Following the sentencing of its employee Salifu Maase alias Mugabe and two panellists Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn by the Supreme Court, two radio stations owned by the Network Broadcasting Company have temporarily been off air in solidarity with the three contemnors.

Montie FM (100.1fm) and Radio Gold (90.5fm) remain off air even as frequency owner Harry Zakkour and directors raise the Ghc30,000 fine slapped on them each failure of which will make them liable for a prison term.

Mugabe, Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn were handed four month jail sentences on Wednesday by the Supreme Court.

A director of Network Broadcasting Company, Mr. Ato Ahwoi aapeared in court for the first time on Wednesday and was also found guilty of criminal contempt. The other directors were convicted together with Mugabe and his two panellists Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn last week.

Political commentators, Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn threatened the lives of judges of the superior court on a Montie FM show hosted by Mugabe.
