NDC MP for Bolgatanga East and former Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine says he occasionally regrets going into active politics.

Responding to a direct question on Starr Chat, monitored by Prime News, that if he regrets being in Active politics, the NDC MP said “Sometimes I do,”

He added: “It takes a toll on you…you sometimes get insulted, you get people who otherwise would not have spoken to you the way they would do so.”

Dr. Dominic Ayine disclosed that he became poorer than expected after he joined active politics.

“…I was doing very well in my private practice. And when former President Mahama came to my constituency, during the campaign that’s what he told the constituents.

“I was making so much money in my private practice he didn’t know that I’d agree to leave that and come and serve as Deputy Attorney General,”

He also stated explicitly that “I’m a man of integrity [and] whilst in office, I never took a bribe, I never stole government money.”

Meanwhile, NDC MP for Bolgatanga East has described as indecent the activities of the current Parliament of Ghana led by Professor Mike Ocquaye.

According to the MP, the Speaker and the Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu in an attempt to frustrate and disregard issues raised by Minority members on the floor of the Parliament of Ghana decided at all times to describe these issues as incompetent.

In a radio interview, Dr. Ayine said he raised point of order and not a motion, he was just seeking to point to the House that the content of the vetting report of Martin Amidu should not be discussed in a manner that will send the wrong signal to the Supreme Court of which a lawsuit has been filed.

But the Speaker believed there was no injunction served the House and for that matter, the content can be discussed as the various arms of government must have mutual respect for each other but not one submitting to the other.
