Former Chief of Defense staff Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah has endorsed the candidature of the immediate past Trade Minister, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah as he gets ready to contest NDC flagbearership.

According to him, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah is the person within the opposition NDC to liberate and motivate Ghana’s youth.

Speaking at a media encounter where Ekwow Spio-Garbrah unveiled his Presidential ambition, the retired Brigadier said “I have decided to be behind Dr Spio Garbrah because I believe that even though I’m 80 years old I have few more years ahead of me so I have a job not only to educate my children but people of their age also ought to know where we have come from and where we are going".

He added that "when I look at the current youth in Ghana I sometimes get worried about the future, we have many young people going around the country without any hope for the future. Therefore I am supporting Spio Garbrah because I think we have to mentor the youth which I know he is very best at that."

Spio Garbrah tried and failed, but that has not deterred him from seeking the highest office in the land.

Spio Garbrah’s ‘Forward Agenda’

Spio-Gabrah made a fresh push to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to recapture power in the 2020 elections when he unveiled the ‘Forward Agenda’ Wednesday evening.

The Forward Agenda is Spio-Gabrah’s grand plan to win the NDC flagbearership and subsequently the Presidency race in the next elections.

The Agenda, he said, "is not one that can be led by just anybody. It is not just a matter of your talents, it is not a matter of the nature of your educational attainments or your financial capacity, it is the motivation in your spirit which is very difficult to measure."
