MP for Bolgatanga East Constituency and Former Deputy Attorney General, Dominic Ayine, says the Akufo-Addo government has shown no concrete evidence as promised Ghanaians to fight corruption.

According to Dominic Ayine the current government in their one year in office has “failed abysmally” in the fight against corruption.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile on how far the current government has taken the fight against corruption, Dr Dominic Ayine said there has not been any concrete proof that the NPP government is committed to fighting corruption.

He believes the fight has always been against political corruption with special interest on former government appointees to the detriment of massive corruption in the civil service.

Dr Dominic Ayine said the President has not taken the necessary steps to ensure perpetrators are brought to court despite the numerous allegations recorded in 2017

He mentioned the expatriate extortion claims in which the President exonerated the Trade Ministry, the controversial BOST scandal in which 5 million litres of oil was said to have been contaminated and the Agric Minister admitting to spending ¢8.4 million on creation of awareness, as issues which should have been prosecuted by now.
