Fresh from claims by policy think-tank, IMANI Ghana that only one  out of the 29 campaign promises of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) was realistic, the party's flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo has made another  big promise.

This time, he has promised to create at least, a dam, in every village in Northern Ghana should he win the December 7, polls.

Addressing members of the Bolagatanga Traditional Council in the Upper East Region, Nana Addo said, “...As far as this part of our world is concerned, I want to go further and talk about one village one dam".

According to him, an NPP government was going to provide functioning irrigation infrastructure through the "One Village One Dam" policy to create jobs and improve food security in Ghana.

A robust irrigation policy like the “One Village One Dam” will make Ghana crop all year round and eventually become a net exporter of most foodstuff, he added.
