The Electoral Commission's decision to shift Ghana's voting day from the 7th of December every four years to the 7th of November every four years is yet to be approved.

According to a Deputy Chairperson of Electoral Commission (EC), Georgina Amankwaa, the bill to effect the change is currently before Cabinet and would pass through the Council of State and then finally to Parliament for deliberation.

Speaking on Kasoa-based Onua FM, Madam Amankwaa noted that it was only after the debate in Parliament and the enactment of the bill into law that the EC could conclude that the elections will be held on 7th November.

“Parliament has not approved of the 7th November but we are sure it will be approved at their next sitting,” she assured.
