The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) national council has approved the nomination of Hajia Saudatu Saeed as the acting Women’s Organiser of the party.

Before her nomination, she was the National Deputy Women’s Organiser. She replaces the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba.

According to the acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, she was nominated by the party’s Steering Committee for consideration by the National Council which “unanimously approved her nomination as the acting National Women’s Organiser” at their meeting on Wednesday, September 13, in Accra.

Hajia Saudatu will act in the position till the party goes to the polls to elect new executive in their upcoming Delegate Conference.

Mr Boadu said: “This appointment has become necessary following the resignation of the Women’s Organiser, Ms Djaba, to take up appointment in government as a Minister.”

Mr Boadu also revealed that all regional executives who had been appointed into government had also resigned and have been duly replaced by new ones to act until the next election.
