General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito has stated that accusations by the New Patriotic Party(NPP) that the NDC had stolen ideas from them for their manifesto mean that the opposition party cannot be entrusted with the power to rule Ghana.

The NPP on Wednesday at a press conference alleged that key points in the NDC's 2016 manifesto highlights presented by President John Mahama on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House had been stolen from them.

But according to General Mosquito, the NPP had stated prior to President Mahama's presentation that they had not released their manifesto because they feared the NDC would steal their ideas so it was baffling that they would turn around and accuse the NDC of stealing ideas from their 'secretly guarded manifesto'.

Speaking at the launch of their 2016 manifesto in Sunyani on Saturday, the NDC General Secretary posited that per the NPP's arguments, the presidency seat would be stolen under their watch because they could not even guard their own manifesto.

"Some people have said we steal their ideas. How can we leave the nation in their hands?", he insinuated, adding that "anyone who says we've stolen their manifesto doesn't understand true politics"
