Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has resolved to sue deputy Trade Minister for defamation.

According to him, the vitriolic attack launched on him by Carlos Ahenkorah is not something that can be swept under the carpet.

The Deputy Minister of Trade, who has been accused of using the Presidency for profiteering, interrupted Mr Okudzeto’s interview with the media after the NDC MP demanded a probe into the matter.

A fuming Carlos Ahenkorah who is also Tema West MP called the North Tongu MP a liar, a thief who has been stealing throughout his life.

His emotional outburst has been condemned and his actions in the profiteering saga have since come under greater scrutiny.

Based on the public uproar, the embattled Deputy Trade Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah says he is sorry for his verbal assault on opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentarian, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

“I am sorry, it will not happen again”, the Deputy Minister said in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM, Thursday.

But Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on Adom News said the apology is not enough to heal his pain.

He indicated that going to court will afford him the opportunity to clear his name on the baseless allegations levelled against him.

The North Tongu MP wondered why a colleague MP could go to that extent in a matter of public concern.

Okudzeto Ablakwa said he is in a meeting with his lawyers to file the writ in court.
