Deputy Minister designate for Local Government and Rural Development, John Oti Bless has been instructed by the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, to render an unqualified public apology to the Chief Justice and other Justices of the Supreme Court after for making slanderous comments about them on a radio station.

According to the Speaker, until Mr Oti Bless apologises,  everything pertaining to his nomination as Deputy Minister for Local Government would be put on hold.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament Friday, Rt. Hon. Adjaho said “one of the last things that I would like is to have this House and the head of another arm of government having problems.”

“I have therefore, behind the scenes, taken some steps in consultation which I have discussed with some members of the leadership of the house to see how this matter can be resolved. As a result of those consultation, it is important that the member of this House that made those statements must apologise,” he expalined.

Immediately aftter the jailing of the Montie trio for making contemptuous comments against the Supreme Court, an audio recording emerged suggesting that Oti Bless was on the Montie FM Pampaso talk show  on the fateful day where he also verbally attacked the Supreme Court and accused the Chief Justice “conniving” with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in an attempt to reverse the election results in 2008 and in 2012 among other allegations.
