The incumbent New Patriotic Party, NPP has set July 7, 2018, for its National Congress at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
 The exact venue for the NPP Congress is the Koforidua Technical Univesity formerly known as Koforidua Polytechnic. The congress will elect national officers who will run the affairs of the NPP for the next four years.
About nine positions are up for grabs and at the close of nominations, 42 NPP stalwarts had picked forms to contest for the various positions, including Chairman, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice-Chairpersons, Organizer, Secretary, Women’s Organizer, Youth Organizer, Treasurer and Nasara Coordinator.Â
Meanwhile, when Prime News Ghana visited the Congress grounds today June 27, 2018, tractors were spotted busily clearing a relatively small arena which is reportedly meant for the upcoming national activity of the ruling NPP.
 Prime News Ghana spoke to some NPP members preparing the place to welcome Delegates across Ghana and they stated that the venue for this year's congress is slightly small considering the number of NPP Delegates expected on July 7, 2018.
