Director of Communications for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Paa Kow Ackon says the party is in court over what he termed, the exorbitant filing fees, presidential and parliamentary candidates are being compelled to pay before they could successfully process their forms.

He said the 1992 constitution states requirements which presidential and parliamentary candidates and parties must meet before being eligible to be voted for without the current situation of the highest bidder getting the nod.

It was in that spirit he said why the PPP is seeking a declaration on Regulation 45 of C.I 94.

Presidential and parliamentary candidates in this year’s general election are required to pay GH¢50,000 and GH¢10,000, respectively.
