Member of Parliament (MP) for Lawra and Deputy Minister-designate for Roads and Highways, Anthony Karbo got the sitting of the Appointments Committee of Parliament into a lot of laughter with a suggestion for the establishment of dog meat factories under government's proposed 1-district-1-factory policy.

According to him, since every district was going to benefit from the resources they had in abundance, it would not be out of place to establish such factories in the Frafra and Dagaaba dominated areas of the country where dog meat is the topmost delicacy.

Explaining his suggestion which he said he had made on radio sometime ago in response to crtitcisms of President Nana AKufo-Addo's promise to ensure that each district in Ghana had a factory established during his tenure as part of his industrialisation agenda, Mr Karbo stated that though he made the suggestion in jest to in response to the pessimism of Bolagatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo over the policy, he felt such a factory would not be a bad idea because the dog meat could be potentially exported to some parts of Asia where dog meat is also delicacy.

"Dog is delicacy. It's such a huge delicacy in Korea and China. It's an exportable product, let's put all jokes aside. It's an exportable product and I have lived in Bolga for so many years and I know that there are dog hunters in Bolga who go around buying dogs and hunting for dogs and it's a big delicacy just like we could have a cat factory for the Volta Region", he stated to a lot of giggles in the room.
