Ghanaians must shun President John Mahama and his National Democratic Congress and vote for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to solve the nation's problems, NPP's Policy Advisor and Chairman of their 2016 Manifesto Committee, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has stated.
According to him,“the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is coming to the end of its second term in office and as incumbent one expect them to bid for a second term based on their performance instead they are making grandiose promises to Ghanaians".
This, he said, was a clear indication President Mahama lied to Ghanaians to win the 2012Â Elections because a simple fact check will reveal a tall list of failed promises government has been timid to put across to Ghanaians
“There is no greater fraud than a promise not kept and President Mahama should not take Ghanaians for fools,†he said, adding that the “people of Ghana trusted President Mahama more than he deservedâ€, he said while speaking at a press conference at the NPP Headquarters on September 19, 2016 in reaction to the NDC's 2016 manifesto. Â
He further accused President Mahama of being out of touch with the realities on the ground because "when you speak to random people around Ghana, it appears their concerns, problems and anxieties are the same. Unemployment, bad roads, the lack of decent and affordable accommodation and the high costs as well as the falling standards in education and health" but "it appears he is proud of his achievements of the past four years".
He added that "what we have in John Mahama is a president who is so out-of-touch with the problems of the average Ghanaian that he sees his non-performance in these sectors as a success".
"In my capacity as a policy advisor to the NPP Presidential Candidate, I wish to assure Ghanaians that in Nana Akufo-Addo you will have a competent, incorruptible, selfless, honest, and compassionate leader with a competent and disciplined team to deliver on the solutions to our nation’s problems", he advised.
