Newly appointed assistant coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Ibrahim Tanko, says the senior national team can still qualify for the 2018 world cup despite major setbacks in their campaign so far.

The Stars are currently 3rd in the qualifying series behind the Pharaohs of Egypt who are on top with 6 points and Uganda are 2nd with 4 points.

The Stars last defeat came against Egypt in Alexandria where they lost 2-0.

But the assistant coach believes reaching the finals is still a reality.

“We will try our best to Qualify Ghana to Russia 2018,its achievable- Winning our matches is the only way to win back the heart of Ghanaians.”

The Black Stars will be playing friendly matches against Mexico this month and the United States of America in June.
