Ghana has secured their qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations after Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision on Sierra Leone.

The Black Stars qualification was sealed following CAF's decision to exclude Sierra Leone from the qualifiers. CAF removed Sierra Leone from the qualifiers due to the suspension placed on the country by the world governing football body, FIFA.

The decision has therefore qualified the Black Stars of Ghana along with Kenya in Group F for the tournament next year.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa revealed the decision of CAF to remove Sierra Leone from the qualifiers.

"The Extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of Caf met in Accra, Ghana on Friday (November 30),” Mwendwa said.

"One of the decisions made at the meeting was to remove Sierra Leone from the list of competitors in our group. We are now waiting for the official letter from Caf, but we have already qualified. We expect the letter from Caf this week." He concluded.

The eviction Sierra Leone sees Kenya stay top of the group with seven points followed by Ghana with six points after back-to-back victories against Ethiopia.

Ethiopia stay third with just a point as they lose the three points claimed from their win over the Leone Stars.

And with just a match remaining in the group, Ethiopia cannot leapfrog Kenya and Ghana which therefore guarantees the two sides qualification in next year's tournament.
