AFCON 2019: Black Stars fail to score a goal in second successive friendly after goalless with SA

The Black Stars of Ghana drew 0-0 in their last friendly game against South Africa before the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Egypt.

This was the second game Ghana played after losing 1-0 to Namibia in their first friendly game.

Coach Kwesi Appiah named a strong starting XI which had the Ayew brothers starting up front.

Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah and Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid started in midfield.

The game which was played behind closed doors at the Police Stadium in Al Jalal, Dubai saw both sides failing to score.

The Black Stars will open their AFCON campaign against Benin on 25 June in Ismailia and four days later take on African champions Cameroon at the same venue.

Their last game will be against Guinea Bissau on 2 July 2019 in Suez.
