Cape Verde head coach Rui Aguas has begged Uganda Cranes to replicate their Saturday performance when they meet Tanzania in the final day of the AFCON qualifiers.

Uganda qualified for a second consecutive time following a hard-drilled victory over the Islanders on Saturday at Namboole.

KCCA striker Patrick Kaddu headed Godfrey Walusimbi’s 77th-minute cross to seal it for the hosts.

With Lesotho and Tanzania on five points and Cape Verde on four, all the other three group L members can qualify for the finals on the day six.

Aguas has asked Uganda not to loosen their nuts in March and stand to the test by beating Tanzania.

“We are in a complicated situation,” the coach told the media after the loss. “Uganda was the better side and deserved to win. I really hope that they (Cranes) repeat the same performance when they meet Tanzania in the last game. I am praying for you (Uganda) to win in Dar Es Salaam We shall also do our part when we host Lesotho and qualify.”
