South Africa and Nigeria will be battling for a place in the semifinal of the ongoing AFCON 2019 today, July 10 at 7:00 pm.

Ahead of the tie, the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has tipped South Africa who ousted hosts Egypt to come out on top of the crucial encounter at the Cairo International Stadium but his opposite manager Stuart Baxter is not buying into those mind games.

He, however, was quick to note that the Nigeria, who saw off defending champions Cameroon in the round of 16, is a big team on the continent any day.

“Nigeria are absolutely one of the best teams on the continent and have been for a long time. One game doesn’t make us favourites. I don’t think he’s (Rohr) fooling anybody,” Baxter told reporters Tuesday.

“When we hit a balance between good organisation and getting on the ball and playing with pace and using our natural inherent technique we can give anybody a game.

“We’ll be respecting Nigeria but not fearing them. We will have to produce a very good South Africa performance to beat them.”
