Head coach of Ethiopian national football team, Abraham Mebratu, has named a 23-man squad ahead of the African Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana.
Mebratu has named largely the same squad that did battle against Kenya in a double-header last month with the only inclusion being that of Daniel Demisse who plays for Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) side, Coffee.
Demisse was named as the player of the tournament in this year’s Addis Ababa City Cup.
Ethiopia, currently bottom of Group F in the qualifiers with a single point, need a win from the Ghana game if they are to harbor any hope of making it to the continental showpiece that is to be hosted by Cameroon in 2019.
5-0 win
Ghana, who sat out the last two match days after Sierra Leone’s suspension, are second in the group with three points, four behind leaders Kenya who have amassed seven points from four rounds of play.
In the first game against the two teams, Ghana romped to a 5-0 win on match day 1 in Kumasi.
The match is scheduled for November 18th in Addis Ababa.
