Andre Ayew has been ruled out of for two weeks after undergoing an operation for a finger injury while playing for Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The Black Stars midfielder underwent the operation on Tuesday, November 27 night at the Liv Hospital in Istanbul following the injury he suffered while playing as they lost a 2-1 at Trabzonspor over the weekend.

Dr. Erden Erturer and his team performed fracture fixation operation on the Ghanaian player's fourth finger on his right hand.

Treatment has immediately started and he will rejoin his Fenerbahce team-mates in two weeks' time after his act of bravery was hailed by the Turkish media.

Ayew was the toast of the Turkish newspaper over his selfless act of continuing to play for giants Fenerbahce despite suffering a serious broken finger in their top-flight game over the weekend.

Ghana’s talisman Andre Ayew caught the headlines in Turkey after staying on the pitch with a broken for Fenerbache as they lost a 2-1 at Trabzonspor.

Ayew suffered in the injury in the first half and the medical team led by Dr Burak immediately intervened and concluded that the midfielder could not continue to play.

The excruciating pain in the serious injury could not prevent Ayew from continuing the game as he opted to continue despite the medical team's decision to have him substituted.

The Ghanaian opted for treatment on the sidelines and continued the game with the injury on the right hand that had a fracture on the fourth finger.

Ayew, who couldn't keep his tears from the pain but continued the game with a bandaged hand which has drawn widespread praise among the Turkish media and fans as an example of players committed to their teams.
