South African nation Angola has won the 2018 Amputee Football World Cup after beating Turkey 5-4 on penalty shootouts.
The match that was played on Sunday ended goalless after extra-time. The historical moment came when Angola's goalkeeper, Jesus, saved Turkey’s fifth penalty before Henio Guilerme stepped up to convert and hand Africa the title.
Other African representatives were Kenya and Angola with the latter making the knockout rounds before losing to Russia, while Nigeria’s Special Eagles – who launched a fundraising campaign to reach the tournament - failed to make the second round, after two defeats and one victory in the group phase.

Sadly for Africa, Liberia and Ghana had also made the qualification passage but unfortunately did not make the trip to the finals. Liberia is believed to have been unsuccessful in acquiring visas in due time, while Ghana missed out due to a lack of financial sponsorship.
