Arsenal confirmed their position as FA Cup specialists with a 2-1 win over league champions Chelsea in the finals at Wembley on Saturday.

The much fancied Chelsea had been tipped to win the tie to complete a double, but were denied by Arsene Wenger's men who have now won their third trophy in the last four seasons.

The Gunners took an early lead through a controversial fourth minute strike from Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez beat N'golo Kante to a dropping ball in the Chelsea area and sent a pass towards Ramsey, who was miles offside. Chelsea stopped play and Ramsey stopped too leaving Sanchez to chase after the loose ball himself and slot it under Courtois in the Chelsea. The referee had to consult his assistant before allowing the goal.

Arsenal squandered some decent chances but held unto the lead to finish the first half 1-0.

Chelsea piled the pressure in the second half but were derailed by a red card to Victor Moses in the 6th minute.

Moses who had received a yellow card in the 56th minute received the marching off orders after he went down inside the Arsenal area under no contact.

A 10-man Chelsea rallied and equalised in the 76th through Diego Costa but before they could finish their celebrations, Arsenal were back in the lead and held to win the trophy.
